MSG Jared Van Aalst Foundation Announces Scholarship Recipients


May 26, 2015 (Columbus, GA) – The MSG Jared Van Aalst Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded to honor the memory of a fallen Special Operations warrior, announces the scholarship recipients for the 2015-2016 academic year.

The Foundation’s scholarship committee selected six high school students. Five scholarship awardees are from the Chattahoochee Valley and one is from North Carolina. The Foundation will host the Jared Van Aalst Rifle Shooting Competition on Saturday, September 26, 2015. Proceeds from this shooting match will help fund future scholarships.

MSG JARED VAN AALST SCHOLAR AWARD ($3,500)
(Military dependent and varsity athlete with a 4.0 GPA)
Dylan A. Simpson- Smith Station High (University South Carolina Lancaster)

MSG JARED VAN AALST MEMORIAL AWARD ($2,500)
(Military dependent and varsity athlete a 3.5 GPA)
Nicole J. Merritt- Fayetteville Academy (University of North Carolina Greensboro)

MSG JARED VAN AALST GENERAL AWARD ($1,500)
(Non-military dependent and varsity athlete with a 3.5 GPA)
Jacob D. Smith - St. Ann Pacelli (Kennesaw State University)

MERIT AWARD ($500)
